All in a Day's Work

Went to pray at the Boon Teck Road Temple. It is a Chinese custom to pay respects to one's ancestors. Our little contingent later proceeded to congregate at Sixth Uncle's place for lunch.

Went to the pool with Loren today, and he mentioned something about Network Marketing. Such companies are becoming more popular with young adults nowadays, as Bang Zhi did mention something about it the other day too... In fact, these companies now no longer focus on the sale of products; Instead, they try and sell business models and get more people in their network to expand their base of operations and size of funding. Not a new concept here, but it's happening on a rather alarming scale.

What Others are Blogging About

Bloggers Against Reverse Discrimination (BARD) - With the failure of FACTS – Family Against Casino Threat in Singapore to prevent the government from deciding to 'bulldoze its way' and build casinos (IR)s in Singapore, I have taken it upon myself to form the BARD – Bloggers Against Reverse Discrimination.

Did You Know?

At the corner of Boon Teck Road, there is a small kiosk that dispenses free water: "A legacy of days of yore when itinerants and beggars would be given water at the temple gates." Click here for the PDF File link.

Singapore exhumes the dead to make room for the living - "Singapore is exhuming tens of thousands of graves at the only cemetery open for burial in the city-state, part of a decades-old plan to recycle space for the dead and create more room for the living in the crowded territory..." (more)
